Metal Studs

Metal stud framing provides a strong structure for plasterboard installation. They are a faster and less expensive way to install a stud in comparison with the timber studs.

Metal studs are framed similarly to wood studs in that they often have comparable diameters and may be easily insulated. Insulating material sheets fit easily between metal studs, and the studs that surround them serve as a very secure and protective framework.

The use of heavier gauge metal studs is great for exterior or load-bearing walls, whereas the use of lighter gauge studs is appropriate for non-load-bearing walls like partitions.
